WHY SAUTNER STUDIO

You're not starting
from zero.

Thirty years of shipping software leaves a lot behind: production-hardened open-source code, trusted developer accounts on every major store, release pipelines, and instincts you can't rush. Hire Sautner Studio and all of it walks in the door on day one — which usually means most of your app is already done.

  1. TRACK RECORD

    Thirty years of shipped software

Three decades of full-stack product work: consumer apps for QVC, Hollister, Horizon Go and Xfinity running on millions of screens; Nimbits, an open-source IoT platform cited in 110+ books, papers and university syllabi; and Krill, today's flagship — a five-platform distributed control system built, shipped and operated end to end. You're not hiring potential. You're hiring a track record.

  2. HEAD START

Most of your app is already built

Decades of open-source work means the hard, generic majority of a typical product — real-time sync, networking, auth, data layers, design systems, hardware integration — already exists in our repositories, tested and running in production today. We wire your product into systems that already work, so your budget goes to what makes your app yours instead of re-solving solved problems.

    • Real-time state sync · SSE
    • P2P discovery & pairing
    • Cross-platform auth & crypto
    • Material 3 design system
    • gRPC · MQTT · webhooks
    • Charts & dashboards
    • Camera & media
    • Sandboxed automation
    Audit the code on GitHub
  3. DISTRIBUTION

Trusted on every store that matters

Choose managed deployment and your app ships from developer accounts in long good standing on Google Play and the App Store — plus Maven Central, a signed apt repository, and notarized installers for macOS and Windows. That reputation is the difference between shipping this afternoon and shipping next month: no account setup or paperwork, no mandatory tester cohorts or closed-testing waiting periods, no first-app review limbo. Most of our store approvals clear in under an hour.

    • Google Play
    • Apple App Store
    • Maven Central
    • Signed .dmg / .msi / .deb
    • Debian apt repo

Prefer to publish under your own accounts? We set them up, ship there, and hand over the keys.

  4. SCALE

    Architecture that grows without rewrites

We were building distributed systems before "the cloud" had a name — Nimbits ran planet-scale IoT logging on Google App Engine in 2010, and Krill self-assembles into a peer-to-peer mesh streaming live state to five platforms at once. Your backend starts small and cheap on AWS and scales by configuration, not by rewrite.

    • AWS S3 · CloudFront · Lambda
    • Real-time SSE streaming
    • P2P mesh networking
    • gRPC
    • Embedded → cloud
  5. SECURITY

Secure by habit, not by audit

Applied cryptography is part of the daily toolkit: HMAC-SHA256 auth that is byte-identical across JVM, Android, iOS, Wasm and openssl — golden-vector tested — rolling RFC 6238 tokens, constant-time comparisons, and self-provisioned TLS. Dependencies carry explicit CVE floors, secrets are scanned before they can leak, and every artifact ships signed: GPG for Linux, Authenticode for Windows, notarization for macOS.

    • HMAC-SHA256 · golden-vector tested
    • RFC 6238 rolling tokens
    • TLS provisioning
    • GPG · Authenticode · notarization
    • CVE-floor dependency pins
    • Secret detection
  6. RELEASE

    Release pipelines you keep

Every project ships with its own CI/CD: GitHub Actions building, testing and packaging on every commit, automated versioning, and store publishing wired end to end. The pipeline is a deliverable, not a dependency — v1.1 ships as easily as v1.0, whether we're still involved or you've taken it in-house.

  7. AI & QUALITY

    AI on continuous code-review duty

A multi-agent AI fleet reviews every change, hunts bugs nightly, and gates each finding through adversarial confirm/refute review before a human ever sees it — layered over test-driven development and screenshot-regression testing. The same automation renders your store screenshots and narrated demo videos on every release, so your marketing never lags your product.

    • Multi-agent code review
    • Nightly architectural bug hunts
    • Screenshot regression
    • Auto-generated store screenshots
    • Narrated demo videos
  8. BACKEND

    Your backend, delivered your way

We deliver infrastructure as code that stands up your backend in your own AWS account — you hold the keys, we leave a runbook. Or we run it for you as a managed service with monitoring, alerting and product analytics, billed monthly for the compute. Either way the infrastructure is yours, and you can switch models later without starting over.

    • Infrastructure as code
    • Your AWS account or ours
    • Monitoring & alerting
    • Product analytics
    • Runbooks & docs
  9. HOW WE WORK

    Small on purpose

Sautner Studio is led by Ben Sautner, and the person who scopes your project is the person who builds it. That means fixed-scope quotes, a working build in your hands every week, straight answers from the engineer doing the work — and at handoff, everything is yours: source, designs, pipelines, infrastructure and documentation. No account managers, no handoffs, no agency markup.
